He's hard to catch sometimes. You head out to his pasture with high hopes. He's grazing vigorously like it's his last meal. When he sees you, he gives you a salty glance and you know you're in trouble. He puts his head up. Stares at you. Chews. The closer your feet get to him, the faster he's moving his hooves away from you. By the time you get to where he used to be, he's bouncing around the pasture in full snort-fueled frenzy, encouraging his friends to join him. Look how beautiful and athletic he is. Why doesn't he show this much enthusiasm when you're riding? He does a fly-by about a foot from you complete with over-the-shoulder "HA HA", tail flagging. You sigh, and turn toward the barn to get a lure.
Snarky Stars. Sometimes the right response is to snort and bolt.
